Daly Calls Sugden, Brennan Suspended

Some good news regarding Brandon Sugden’s situation.  Joe Warmington follows-up his article yesterday with the news that NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly called Sugden:

“Bill said he will talk to the teams this weekend,” said Brandon. “He said he can’t make any promises but I just want to thank him and all of the people who have helped here.”

My apologies to Joe of the Toronto Sun.  I originally forgot to link to his article in my post yesterday.  One of his colleagues politely pointed it out to me.

Brennan, Helenius to sit two

Kip Brennan let me know that he and Sami Helenius have both been suspended two games for what the league declared a premeditated fight, thanks to them squaring off.

Sweden coverage added

Unlike the KHL and SM-Liiga, I’m doubting Elitserien (the Swedish Elite League) will have any scraps on opening day, the 15th.  Nevertheless, we have added it to our coverage here at hockeyfights.com.

Hey VF, just a heads up. On the “Leagues” drop down button at the top of each page, the KHL is listed but the FEL and SEL are not.

Yeah, I’m not sure if we’re going to list all on the menu yet since we still have to add some single-A leagues and possibly more European leagues.  They’re all linked from any league page, and the teams list, plus I’ll most likely list them out on the home page as well.  I’ll probably have an update for it soon.
