Wallace Comes Calling for Steckel

The Caps and Pens met for the first time since the Winter Classic on Sunday, which means that it's also their first meeting since David Steckel's collision with Sidney Crosby, who is likely to remain sidelined with a concussion until March.

Many expected the Pens to force Steckel to answer the bell at some point, regardless if the hit on Crosby was intentional or not. Few thought it would be Tim Wallace.

In his first NHL regular season game this season, Wallace challenged Steckel off of a faceoff during the third period. It may not have been retribution for Crosby missing months of playing time, but Wallace certainly threw and landed almost all the punches.

The scrap was Sunday's only one.

Saturday featured a total of four bouts including Ben Eager's first fight as a Shark against Adam McQuaid.

Just wanted to check, the Capitals and Ovechkin have how many Stanley Cups? Oh Yeah, now I remember,,, ZERO!!! Talk all the smack on Pittsburgh and Crosby that you want, the Penguins have 3 Stanley Cups, Crosby with 1 of them. LMAO at Capitals fans for being pissed at all the wrong things.

HA! ovechkin is not intentionally a dirty player. his intensity and physicality is almost unmatched and of course some players are going to get injured and obviously if a player hits as much as ovechkin he is going to have a few "dirty" hits in his career. doesn't mean he's a cheap player or anything you women can think up. get over yourselves.

Ovechkin is so guilty of cheap shots, ie the one on Gonchar back in 09, etc.. It all boils down to what goes around comes around. Bruce even said Steckel had no intention of laying that hit on Crosby's head, just doesn't do stuff like that. I've watched that hit over and over and I find it hard to believe that he couldn't avoid the head shot. Engellend needs to bash Ovechkin's hydrocephalus brains out of his little head. Ovechkin is a grandstanding c__nt, no two ways about who, who does not understand playoff hockey and subsequently will achieve accordingly.

Funny how that piece of crap can take out other players knees (twice) and blame it on the opponent moving, but when he moves away to avoid a hit and gets tripped...his skirt gets all in a fluff. What a baby. Hopefully somebody soon takes out that toothless, sackless, fudgepacker for good.
