The Middleweights Mix It Up

Sunday’s scheduled games produced a total of four fights that had many of the NHL’s more notable middleweights in action.

The day’s first fight took place during the Panthers’ blowout win over the Caps. Nick Tarnasky collided with Matt Bradley along the boards during the second period and the two decided to drop the gloves immediately after. It was the second fight this weekend for Tarnasky, who tangled with David Clarkson on Saturday.

In a cross-conference battle between the Lightning and Flames, Robyn Regehr ended up high sticking Vinny Lecavalier in the face while he was charging towards the Calgary net with the puck. Regehr was promptly challenge by Ryan Malone and the two exchanged punches in a spirited scrap.

The other two bouts that took place were impromptu bouts between Derek Dorsett and Shane O’Brien in Jackets-Canucks and Matt Greene and Ben Eager in Kings-Blackhawks.
