Stortini & Barch Marathon It, Sugden Antsy
Zack Stortini and Krys Barch traded punches for a looong time last night. Stortini opened up, the linesmen let it go, and fans roared for a couple of minutes. Definitely one that’ll be remembered by anyone in attendance.
In other action: Aaron Voros went at Anthony Stewart after Stewart got his elbow up high behind the Panthers’ goal. BJ Crombeen and Eric Boulton picked up majors in an untelevised game.
Fight… anyone?
Brandon Sugden‘s looking for a fight, but can’t seem to find many opponents in the AHL.
“I’m going to start skating around with a $100 bill in my glove, see if I can buy a fight”, Sugar told me, facetiously.
He currently has six fights in 15 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack this season. Not bad numbers for the NHL, he’s tied for 22nd in the AHL.
Sugar said he’s enjoying his time in Hartford, but wishes they were in the North Division, where he could possibly see more action. In 2003-04 Sugden played for the Syracuse Crunch and led the AHL with 41 fighting majors.
Sugden’s enjoying playing hockey, picking up his first point last weekend, but he knows what he’s employed to do and is frustrated having a hard time doing it. The Wolf Pack’s opponents this past weekend were Manchester and Providence. Sugden saw ice time, but didn’t hit the scoresheet otherwise.
