Parros Nets Two, Fights Hordi as Usual

What a night for George Parros.

"The Stache" netted a goal in the first period of Panthers-Ducks and then accepted an invitation to danced from Darcy Hordichuk. Believe it or not, the fight was the twelfth regular season bout between the two since Parros entered the NHL right after the lockout, fourteenth if you're counting preseason. Parros also went on to score another goal in the second period.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Shawn Thornton continued a solid campaign with an even scrap against Jody Shelley. Tanner Glass also dropped the gloves, facing Tim Jackman.

Blues, Blackhawks go for three

The Blues and Blackhawks combined for three scraps in the only game with fisticuffs on Tuesday.

John Scott collided with Cam Janssen early in the first period. They were followed by B.J. Crombeen and Nick Boynton in the second and then Jeremy Morin and Chris Porter in the third.

Due to a technical difficulties (power outage, always fun), Tanner Glass vs Tim Jackman will be added in a couple of days. Jackman's last fight, against Deryk Engelland, will be added later today.

All the gamers of the NHL know where they came from and why they are in the show. They never dispute that. They take on their role willingly and if times come when they can bang one or in Pennsylvanias finest case two then more power to them and they definetly deserve the praise. Todays gamers have to contribute something to the game whether it's points or plus/minus. The straight fighter who can barely stand on their skates let along put the puck in the net are over. Sadly Scott Parker, Aaron Downey, Brian McGrattan and countless others are either out of hockey or the NHL due to their lack of overall skill with the skates and stick handling. What bugs me is when the guys who are paid to score try to show their manhood and drop the gloves. If they know how to handle themselves then once in awhile let them go for it. To see guys like Sidney Crosby or Marian Gaborik throw down in a slap to everybody named Godard and Boogaard. I would love to see all the gamers put the numbers up that the Legend used to post. He was one of a kind so that will never be duplicated. Todays gamers can model themselves to the skill level of Chris Neil who has posted 10+ points in every season of his NHL career which is remarkable for fighter standards. Here's hoping George Parros scores many more goals this seaon.
