Lucic Impresses Over Boynton

Milan Lucic dominated in another fight last night, this time against Nick Boynton. Tonight will lead to a different sort of test depending on whether or not he accepts George Laraque‘s challenge. It’s widely expected that Laraque will come calling. It’ll lead to one of three things:
* a decline, which will lead to more invitations
* an acceptance, and a beat down by the man called champ
* an acceptance, and Looch becomes legend

Habs, Leafs honor legends

Before the Laraque-Lucic watch begins, the Habs will retire Patrick Roy‘s number. A slow mend between St. Patrick and the Canadiens has been going on for years, and tonight might be the beginning of a new era between the team and the Hall of Famer.

Over in Toronto, the Maple Leafs will have a tribute for Wendel Clark. The powerforward was well-loved, and still is, by the Leafs Nation.

Wow Lucic what a coward ! He runs star players such as Kovalev and expects to carry on and mug to home town fans when he fought and beat Komisarek but when a real challenge comes his way he is either to young or to valuable to fight. You Boston fans are a joke and your new found hero is a chicken. Don't run people and try to kill them on every shift and you may not get this attention, and by the way he is no Cam Neely, Neely wouldn't have taken that embarasment that Laraque dished out he would have at least given it a go. Verdict......Coward
Posted by boldbilly on 2008-11-24 21:16:15 All of a sudden now Lucic is Wayne Gretsky, he is on pace for 50 points, not to impressive for a top liner. The beantowners make no sense, he is to valuable to fight BGL but not to valuable to fight scrubs he knows he can beat. He is a puss until he shows me he will fight a legitimate heavyweight.

Bruins are a much tougher team than the Montreal crybabies. Don't have to endlessly prove it. There is the rest of the season and playoffs.
Posted by hipchecker20 on 2008-11-22 20:47:19 Lucic DOES NOT need to fight Laraque, nor should he fight Laraque, as a 19 year old on the top line, he has no business fighting him, if someone on the ice wants to react to a hit of Lucic's fine, but he's too good of a player to lose for five minutes or longer after fighting Laraque...he's got nothing to prove. He had something to prove to Komisarek, and he did it.
Posted by fugeboston on 2008-11-22 19:36:54 I agree, bbake. Lucic is a much more dangerous player than GL. Though it's a fight i'd like to see happen, i doubt we will see it. Lucic gone for 5 mins, or Laraque gone for 5...Looch is far more valuable than George.
Posted by Shep on 2008-11-22 19:36:38 I don't think you'll see Lucic fight George. As a first liner now, he has to pick and choose his battles, Laraque is too much of a risk. Risk of getting hurt and missing time, and a risk of a momentum swing in Canadians favor. Shawn Thornton was right when he fought Laraque earlier this year, he said someone had to fight Laraque, and he didn't want it to have to be Lucic or anyone else. Right now Lucic is too much of an offensive asset to be fighting Laraque.

Looch needs to fight Big George and silence his critics. I hope he doesn't run from George. Very tough kid but he must fight the CHAMP to be considered a contender. I scored tix for the game so I'm looking forward to a great match.
