Eric Godard Back in Calgary

hockeyfights.com has learned Eric Godard has re-signed with the Calgary Flames.

It is a one-way contract, other terms are currently unknown.

Godard was a restricted free agent who originally filed for an arbitration hearing.

Update Jul 12 330pm: Godard’s NHLPA page lists his 2007-08 salary as $475k.

I like the direction of the league this off-season...My Avalanche resigned Scott Parker, picked up Scott Hannan and just signed Dale Purinton. Every team will try to emulate the Ducks (most FMs in NHL). Although there is no fighting in the playoffs, tough guys and scraps keep the skill guys safe and can also give them some wind after a long shift during the regular season. Niedermayer and Selanne are not young and I'm sure they appreciated Parros sucking up a couple minutes mid-game, as well as pumping up the crowd and the bench.
