Janssen and Jason Wiemer hit Darius Kasparitis along the boards causing Hollweg to skate over and level Janssen, knocking him to the ice. Janssen returns to his feet and the two drop the gloves and tie up. Hollweg sneaks in a short left jab just before Janssen throws a right. Janssen connects with another right that knocks Hollweg's helmet off, allowing Janssen to grab a lock of Hollweg's hair before quickly letting go. The two grapple and Janssen misses over the top with a right, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the ice. Hollweg gets in a left to the back of Janssen's head while he is falling and the linesmen quickly come in. Other Penalties: Hollweg received an instigator, roughing and misconduct.

Janssen hits Commodore partly into the Carolina bench while Commodore tries to play the puck up ice. Janssen pushes him before throwing a right and dropping his gloves, causing Commodore to do the same. Commodore throws four rights and Janssen answers with two of his own. Commodore pulls Janssen's helmet off just before he loses his balance and goes down to a knee allowing Janssen to get in two rights. Commodore then throws 8-9 jersey-jabs while Janssen shakes his elbow pad off and returns fire in the form of an overhand right. The two then go back and forth with jersey-jabs and long rights for a good while until they stop throwing and the linesmen come in. Other Penalties: Janssen received an instigator and misconduct.
