| Comments: From newyorkislanders.com: At the 2:46 mark of the first, RW Eric Godard put his knuckles to the test as he and New Jersey's Turner Stevenson duked it out. Stevenson landed several early rights with Godard countering with his left. The Islander rookie unloaded a heavy right late that staggered the Devils' right wing with Godard then scoring the takedown. | ||||

| Comments: From newyorkislanders.com: Godard once again landed heavy shots with both hands and again floored the Devil to the ice. As that was going on, Schultz and Brylin exchanged pleasantries inside the Islanders' zone. Godard ended up getting a game misconduct at the end of things as the Islanders ended up on the short-end of the calls. Other Penalties: Mike Danton received a goaltender interference; Godard a roughing and game misconduct. | ||||

| Comments: Even sqaure off. Brash lunges in and they lock up. A couple glancing punches at first and they grapple some more. Brash looks to land a left to the side of the head, might have connected. They both throw lefts and Godard lands one right on the button. It seemed to piss Brash off because he moved his hands from the back of his jersey to Godard's collar and started tugging hard, trying to get him off balance to open up on him. Godard spins down from the tugging. | ||||

| Comments: McKenzie is looking for revenge for the beating Stevenson took in the first Isles-Devils preseason game. Mac was the aggressor and Godard was willing. Good, clean, long square off, fists clinched tight, Mac throws two to three rights which at best graze Godard. He basically nuetralized those blows. Godard goes with the right a few times, not much happening there, then boom, a big time left, flush to Jimmy Mac's face. His legs are wobbling from this one, then the best punch of the fight, an uppercut to Mac's chin which clearly buckle the big man's knees. Mac throws two weak rights, but was clearly dazed after this one. | ||||
