Smith and Lapperierre go in a spirited but short bout with each man throwning wildly. Smith grazes Lappy with a couple of punches then Lappy controls the later half of the fight with a punch or two that may have caught Smith. In the box, they are yelling at each other.

Sawyer and Smith go right in front of the net. Smith kind of jumps Sawyer from behind, but Sawyer recovers well. Smith throws a wild right not connecting, Sawyer then wildly throws 6 to 7 wild haymakers maybe landing a few to the top of Smith's helmet. By now, Sawyer is pulling the undersized Smith around the ice wildly and Smith falls to the ice. Other Penalties: Smith and Sawyer received roughings; Bryan Marchment a hooking.

Occured during one of many mini-scrums in the game. The much smaller Smith here threw and landed more punches. Ward looked surprised by Smith's willingness and was off balance most of the fight. Other Penalties: Paul Laus received a roughing and misconduct; Ward received a slashing.
