Thornton takes a hit from Zhitnik in the corner which puts him to the ice. Thornton, already aggrevated from getting high sticked, punches Zhitnik from behind. Zhitnik falls to the ice and Thornton puches him again. Other Penalties: Thornton received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct. Alexei Zhitnik did not receive a fighting major.

Both guys were jousting with thier sticks, and then they went. Thornton gave Zettler 3 punches and then a take down. Thornton had the Gordie Howe hat trick.

Thorton serves two for elbowing right after him and Buchberger have some words. He gets out of the box, skates around some, takes a quick rest, and these two wind up shoving in the corner. One or two words, and the gloves come off. Quickly it becomes all Thorton with a slew of lefts that put Buchberger down.
