Comments: Roy hits Todd Marchant hard into the boards causing Thornton to come over and challenge Roy who obliges. The two drop the gloves and Roy throws an early left. Thornton responds with three rights and Roy ducks down for a moment before throwing two lefts. Roy connects with two body shots and a right while they're in close quarters. Thornton creates some space and throws a flurry of six straight rights while Roy tries to move away from the punches. Roy fires back with two lefts and Thornton answers with a right while Roy is throwing. Roy gets in another left and they skate further down ice. Thornton then lands three rights on a bent over Roy and the linesmen quickly move in to break things up.

Comments: Shelley takes out Tom Gilbert with a hit near the Edmonton net, prompting Roy to drop his gloves and immediately go after Shelley. They grab ahold of each other and Shelley starts the fight off with a right. Shelley throws two more rights that knock Roy's helmet off. They exchange some rights to the side and back of each other's head. Roy switches hands and throws a left with Shelley coming back in the form of two rights. Shelley then slams Roy to the ice and the linesmen are right there to grab them and end the fight. Other Penalties: Roy received an instigator and misconduct.
