Comments: McGrattan lands two quick rights as Gaustad ducks underneath to avoid the punches. Gaustad comes back with a right of his own and McGrattan throws a right, knocking him off-balance. As he is going down, Gaustad tags him with three good right hands.

Comments: Biron comes way out of his net to play the puck near the wall and Ovechkin checks him. Biron comes back and pushes Ovechkin who holds his ground. Gaustad comes in glove-punching Ovechkin along with a couple of other Sabres. The Caps catch up to the play and a larger scrum ensues. Out of the fray Gaustad is tied up with Morrisonn. Gaustad has Morrisonn bent over and is throwing uppercuts, one may have buckled him. Morrisonn recovers and throws a punch and then grabs Gaustad's leg and takes him down. Other Penalties: Martin Biron and Alexander Ovechkin each received a roughing.

Comments: Behind the play the two drop the gloves and immediately tie up at the blueline. Gaustad is able to get his left hand up in Strudwick's face as he throws two overhand rights to the back of Strudwick's helmet. Strudwick loses his balance and goes down to a knee, but quickly rises to his feet. Gaustad lands two more rights to the back of Strudwick's head as he takes Strudwick's jersey and tries to pull it over his head. They wrestle around in tight for a bit before Strudwick lands two rights to the side of Gaustad's helmet. Gaustad attempts a locked-out right as Strudwick connects with 5-6 more rights to the back of Gaustad's helmet. Strudwick gets turned around as Gaustad throws three rights to the back of Strudwick's head before they fall to the ice.

Comments: Boynton plays the puck up ice as Gaustad skates up and challenges him just before the two drop the gloves. They tie up, wrestle around and Boynton throws a right while Gaustad has Boynton's jersey up in his face. Gaustad throws three rights and two uppercuts while Boynton's jersey is up over his head. Boynton throws a right and Gaustad slips under Boynton's arm and throws a right to the back of his head just before the linesmen come in.

Comments: Behind the play the two drop the gloves and square off at center ice. They tie up and Gaustad flings his right arm behind Belak, throwing a right to the back of his head. Belak then throws four punches to the head and body of Gaustad. Belak throws another right while Gaustad charges forward and throws a couple of straight body shots. Belak lands two rights and two uppercuts with Gaustad going down to a knee during the flurry. Gaustad digs his head into Belak's chest and tries to wrestle him to the ice but Belak is able to get back on his feet and land one more uppercut before letting go of Gaustad just as the linesmen come in.
