| Exelby checked some a Blue Jacket and a scrum ensues. These two wait a while and then drop the gloves. Both guys throw a couple of punches that miss until Petro lands three or four quick right hands. Not much more as they are separated. | ||||

| Petro takes a 30-foot run at Vandy as the puck is cleared and Vandy gives Petro a little slash and off with the gloves. They have a short squareoff as they both taunt each other, asking to come in first. Finally they come together and Vandy takes control, landing two lefts. They tie up, Vandy switches to the right and throws about three, two landing, one hitting shoulder. Petro tries a right that is short. Then Vandy pops Petro with a left that sends him off-balance. As he falls to a knee Vandy feeds him about five more lefts as the linesmen come in. | ||||

| Jan 03, 2004 | 3pd 12:29 | ATL | @ MON | Stephane Quintal |
| Petrovicky throws a cheap hit on Joey Juneau which prompts Darren Langdon to give him a punch to the back of the head. Petrovicky swings his stick at Langdon's head than Chris Tamer comes in to grab Langdon, but the linesmen keep them apart. Stephane Quintal comes in to defend Langdon and very politely makes sure that Petrovicky drops the gloves. Quintal is trying to throw while Petro is holding on. Quintal is landing with both lefts and rights, but Petro is throwing some punches as well. None seeming to do much damage, but it was mostly in Quintal's control. Other Penalties: Darren Langdon received a roughing and cross checking; Petrovicky an interference and double high sticking; Chris Tamer a roughing. | ||||

| With the game out of reach in the last minute Petro's talking to Cloutier in front of the net and grabs his stick. Cloutier goes at Ron throwing before dropping his equipment. Everyone starts to pair off as the linesmen and refs come in and Allen and Petro wind up with each other. It looks like Petro and Allen are content to just hold on to each other, but Petro then decides to throw a right that catches Allen off-guard. The right hit a combination of helmet and face. Allen tries to get loose with a couple of punches, but doesn’t land any. Allen then tries two left uppercuts, one may have landed, the other comes up short. Petro tries to answer back with a right over the top that goes over Allen’s head. Allen and Petro then exchange a few short rights, none of the punches really doing any damage. Allen then gets Petro bent over and tries two or three uppercuts, but it looks like those come up short, maybe one lands. They then tie up, move in close and the linesmen come in. | ||||

| Petro clips Dumont. Jillson immediately skates over, drops the gloves, and away we go. In close, Jillson throws two right uppercuts. They grapple, and Petro starts firing rights and overwhelms Jillson, who begins to drop his head. Jillson pops up and lands a right. A few more rights from Petrovicky, and it's mostly hugging now. Jillson gets one more uppercut in and it's broken up. Other Penalties: Petrovicky received a clipping; Jillson an instigator and misconduct; Thrashers receive a too many men on the ice penalty. | ||||
