| Comments: Way behind the play these two drop the gloves, tying up immediately. Ray has his right free and is throwing several non-damaging punches to the back of Rivet's helmet. Rivet frees his right and throws three in close shot from underneath. Ray uses this to get some distance and they start each throwing, at one point switching hands and going toe-to-toe with their lefts. Again Ray frees his right and throws a few more before the pair are broken up. | ||||

| Comments: After tying up, Ray gets his right out of his jersey and starts throwing some strong punches in on Quintal, who also starts answering with his right. Ray is ducking as he throws, allowing Quintal to connect with the better punches. After a good exchange they tire and Ray bulls Quintal over to end the fight. Other Penalties: Ray received an instigator and misconduct. | ||||

| Jan 10, 1998 | 3pd 11:00 | BUF | @ SAN | Marty McSorley |
| Comments: These two agree to go and start throwing some rights, with McSorley mixing in some body shots, before they grab on. After some positioning, they start getting free to throw some short rights. Ray lands a good one and McSorley lands at least two. Again McSorley pops Ray with a good short right and switches to some body shots. The two start exchanging good, hard rights with one another that both are connecting with perhaps Ray's landing slightly better here. They tie up in a bearhug with McSorley throwing some weak noogies. Ray ends this with a hard body shot, which forces McSorley to respond. Now free, McSorley again lands a few good rights. Ray switches to the left and lands a decent shot, which is followed by a McSorley right. Finally the linesmen break up the fight which is now over a minute long. | ||||
