As Phaneuf dumps the puck over the glass, he throws his shoulder into Guerin. Their sticks and gloves get up and the gloves come off along the boards. Phaneuf is trying to throw overhand rights, but Guerin has him tied up well. They push each other up against the glass and try to get a hand free. The fight moves away from the boards, but neither guy can get loose. Phaneuf finally gets his right hand free and throws two jabs and two over the top, landing a couple. Guerin has a small cut, which may have happened during the fight or before in the pushing and shoving.

Smith runs over Mathias Tjarnqvist in the Oilers' end and Guerin skates right on over as play goes to the other end of the ice. The camera comes in late and shows Guerin and Smith going toe-to-toe with rights. Smith misses with a short right as they grab on and wait for the linesmen to come in and break things up. Other Penalties: Guerin received an instigator and misconduct.

Montador checks Guerin against the boards after Guerin keeps the puck deep in Florida's zone. Guerin turns around and they drop the gloves and grab on. They get in tight and have a good grip on each other. Both attempt to throw a punch or two, but the punches aren't going far. Guerin manages to get a couple of short punches in. Montador tries to throw a punch that winds up on Guerin's back, so Montador takes off Guerin's helmet while he's got his hand there. They trade some a few quick shots that don't seem to have much power, and then Guerin throws a big left hand that Montador ducks under. They're still in tight and they hold on until the linesmen come in.

Steve Ott nails Konopka with a hard hit near the boards. Both Todd Fedoruk and Konopka try to get at Ott while the linesmen and Guerin are in between them. Guerin starts shoving Konopka before taking his glove off, gouging Konopka's eye, and hitting him with a left before Konopka even has his gloves off. Konopka goes down to a knee, gets back up and tries to go after Guerin but the linesmen are already in between the two. Other Penalties: Guerin received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct; Konopka a roughing; Todd Fedoruk a double roughing. Zenon Konopka did not receive a fighting major. Behind the play the sticks and gloves literally come flying down ice as the two shed their helmets and square off, skating down ice themselves. Guerin grabs ahold of Ballard along the boards and throws two rights and then the two grapple along the glass. Ballard tries a couple of locked-out rights as Guerin connects with two overhand rights to the back of Ballard's head before they fall to the ice.
