CHL Conference Finals Begin Tonight in Colorado

The Colorado Eagles host the Texas Brahmas tonight at the Budweiser Events Center in game one of the Northern Conference Finals. The best of seven series will continue on Sunday with game two in Colorado. Face-off for both games is scheduled for 7:05 PM (MST) and all the action can be seen LIVE on the CHL Network.
The defending Ray Miron President’s Cup champions are coming off a four games to one conference semifinal victory over the Youngstown SteelHounds. The Texas Brahmas have won six straight games and are coming off a four-game sweep of the Governors’ Cup champion Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. The Brahmas are 32-8-1 in their last 41 games dating back to the regular season. The Eagles are 25-13-3 over their last 41 games.
Goaltending has been one of the strengths of both teams during the post-season with Sebastien Laplante posting a 4-1 record with a 2.00 goals against average and a .939 save percentage. He also has posted two shutouts in the playoffs leading the way for all netminders. The tandem of David Cacciola and Brett Jaeger has been solid throughout the second half of the season and have both been brilliant in the post-season. Cacciola played all four games in the sweep of the Mudbugs and is 4-1 with a 2.73 goals against average. Jaeger is 2-0 with a 1.15 goals against average.
The teams split their two regular season meetings with each team winning on home ice.

BUCKS AND SUNDOGS AWAIT SERIES OPENER ON MONDAY
The Laredo Bucks host the Arizona Sundogs in game one of their best of seven Southern Conference finals series on Monday, April 14th at the Laredo Entertainment Center. The two teams each won their respective divisions this season and both are coming off impressive wins in the conference semifinals. The Bucks swept the Odessa Jackalopes in their best of seven series and the Sundogs defeated the New Mexico Scorpions four games to two games.
During the regular season, the teams met four times with Arizona winning the first match-up with their only shutout of the season and the Bucks won the next three games winning each contest by one goal (the last two in a shootout).

Streaking Sundogs – A trio of Sundogs are ridding significant streak that have carried over from the post-season. Alex Leavitt, the CHL’s Joe Burton Scoring Champion, has notched a point in 23 straight games posting 66 points over that stretch. Line mate Cory Urquhart has scored a goal in 16 straight games (the CHL regular season record is 13 games) totaling 25 goals over that stretch. Goaltender Rob McVicar has won 10 straight decisions including all four playoff victories for the Sundogs.
