Blackhawks' Wisniewski Suspended One Game

TORONTO – Chicago Blackhawks’ defenseman James Wisniewski has been suspended for one game, without pay, as a result of a cross-checking incident during NHL game #1053 on March 11, the National Hockey League announced today.
Wisniewski was assessed a match penalty for a cross-check to the neck area of Detroit Red Wings player Mikael Samuelsson at 19:53 of the first period.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Wisniewski will forfeit $3,475.93. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
Wisniewski will miss tonight’s game against Carolina.
