Blackhawks Assign Koci to Rockford; Recall St. Pierre

Tuesday, Jan. 29th, 2008

General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Chicago Blackhawks have assigned forward David Koci to Rockford in the AHL and recalled forward Martin St. Pierre.

Koci appeared in 18 games for the Blackhawks this season and did not score while posting 68 penalty minutes.

Koci was sidelined for 10 games with a broken nose suffered in a game against Boston back on October 25th. He has been a healthy scratch for 15 of the last 18 games.

In 43 games at Rockford this season, St. Pierre was the IceHogs leading scorer with 16 goals and 46 assists for 62 points. Eight of his goals were on the power play and he had a +8 rating.

St. Pierre participated in last night’s American Hockey league All-Star game scoring a goal and adding two assists as the Canadian All-Stars defeated the PlanetUSA All-Stars by the score of 9-8.

St. Pierre was recalled earlier this season and has appeared in one game for the Blackhawks and did not score. He will join the team in time for tomorrow night’s game against the Avalanche at Colorado.
