Canucks Reassign Brown and Rypien, Recall Raymond

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that forward Mason Raymond has been recalled from the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. Forwards Mike Brown and Rick Rypien have been re-assigned to the Moose.

Raymond, 22, has played 23 games with the Canucks this season recording three goals, seven assists for 10 points. Raymond scored his first career NHL goal, December 12th at Anaheim and recorded his first assist as he made his NHL debut on October 5th versus San Jose.

The 6-foot, 185 lbs. native of Calgary, Alberta, was originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks, 51st overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Mike Brown has been re-assigned to the Moose after playing 17 games with the Canucks, recording his first career goal and registering 51 penalty minutes. In 17 games with Manitoba, Brown has three points (2-1-3) and 69 penalty minutes.

Rick Rypien re-joins the Moose after seeing action in nine Canucks games this season, recording two points (1-1-2) and 20 penalty minutes. In 15 games with the Moose this year, Rypien has eight points (1-7-8) and 33 penalty minutes.
