COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed defenseman Ole-Kristian Tollefsen and center Andrew Murray on Injured Reserve and recalled defenseman Marc Methot from the American Hockey League’s Syracuse Crunch, club General Manager Scott Howson announced today.
Tollefsen, who has one goal and 67 penalty minutes with a +4 plus/minus rating in 30 games this season, will be sidelined indefinitely due to a neck injury. Murray, who has collected 2-0-2 and two penalty minutes in six games since making his NHL debut vs. Carolina on December 29, suffered a concussion in last night’s game at St. Louis. He will also be out of the lineup indefinitely.
Methot, 22, has tallied 2-1-3 and 50 penalty minutes in 37 games with Syracuse this season. Columbus’ seventh pick, 168th overall, in the 2003 Entry Draft, he made his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets in 2006-07 and collected 0-4-4 and 12 penalty minutes with a +5 plus/minus rating in 20 games. In 159 career AHL games, he has registered 5-27-32 and 183 penalty minutes with the Crunch.
