Canucks Reassign Rypien to Manitoba

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have re-assigned centre Rick Rypien to the Moose.
Rypien, 23, appeared in Manitoba's opening game of the season Oct. 11/07 vs. Grand Rapids. However, the next day, he was recalled by Vancouver where he scored a goal and an assist Oct. 12/07 vs. Edmonton. This year, the Coleman, AB native has appeared in seven games with Vancouver where he has two points and 18 penalty minutes.
In 14 career games in the NHL, Rypien has two goals and an assist for three points and 27 penalty minutes. In 72 career games with the Moose, Rypien has scored 13 goals and 10 assists for 23 points and 164 penalty minutes since signing an amateur tryout contract back on March 22/05. Rypien has also played in 27 career Calder Cup playoff games and has scored a goal and an assist for two points and 62 penalty minutes.
