Rocky Mountain's Wray Named Sher-Wood/CHL Player of the Month

The Central Hockey League announced today that Scott Wray of the Rocky Mountain Rage has been named the Sher-Wood/Central Hockey League Player of the Month for the season's opening month of October/2007. Wray will receive a custom leather jacket from Sher-Wood, the official stick, glove, pant and protective equipment supplier to the CHL to recognize his accomplishment.

Wray is currently tied for second in the CHL with 13 points including four goals and nine assists. He is also fifth with a +9 plus/minus rating. The talented forward has been a key to the 4-0-1 start by the Rocky Mountain Rage and has had a hand in almost 70% of the goals scored by the Rage this season. In all five games in October, the Ottawa, Ontario native recorded multiple-point games including three games of three points. The Rage currently occupy first place in the Northwest Division and have seen a remarkable turnaround since their inaugural year a season ago when they did not record their ninth point of the season until November 25th.

The 5-11, 190-pound veteran forward has played in 526 professional games scoring 210 goals with 201 assists. In 275 career CHL games, Wray has posted outstanding number scoring 129 goals with 115 assists.

Other players receiving consideration for the monthly award for October include Arizona's Alex Leavitt and Tyler Redenbach, Laredo's James Hiebert, Jeff Bes and Serge Dube, Odessa's Dominic Leveille and Nathan Ward and Oklahoma City's Mike Burgoyne.
