Sabres Agree to Terms With Paetsch

Tuesday, Jul. 31st, 2007

Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have agreed to terms on a three-year deal with restricted free agent defenseman Nathan Paetsch, who was scheduled for NHL arbitration Thursday, August 2 in Toronto.

Paetsch, 24, played in 63 games as a rookie with the Sabres last season, finishing with 24 points (2+22), 50 PIMs and was +10. Nine of Paetsch’s 24 points came on the power play, and he amassed a career-best four-game point streak (0+4) from January 26-February 1.

The native of LeRoy, Saskatchewan, was Buffalo's 7th-round choice (202nd overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Paetsch played junior hockey with Moose Jaw of the Western Hockey League, and won back-to-back silver medals with Team Canada at the 2002 and 2003 World Junior Championships.
