Flames Sign Maki, Nystrom and McElhinney

Calgary, AB - Calgary Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter announced today the signings of forwards Tomi Maki, Eric Nystrom, and goaltender Curtis McElhinney, each to a one year contract.
Maki, a 5’11”, 193 lbs left winger has played in 147 AHL games for the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights. A native of Helsinki, Finland, Maki has spent the past two seasons with the Flames affiliate club in Omaha, and played one game for the Calgary Flames during the 2006-07 season.
Nystrom, a 6’1”, 204 lbs left winger and a former first round draft pick, played two games with the Calgary Flames during the 2005-06 season. A native of Syosset, NY, Nystrom has spent the past two seasons with the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben-Knights (AHL) playing in 90 games.
McElhinney, a 6’2”, 197 lbs goalie played 90 games for the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben-Knights (AHL), and was named as an AHL all-star during the 2006-07 season. A native of London, ON, McElhinney grew up playing all his minor hockey in Calgary, AB.
