Flyers Trade Matt Ellison to Nashville

The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have traded right wing Matt Ellison to the Nashville Predators in exchange for future considerations, according to General Manager Paul Holmgren.

Ellison, 23, was scoreless in two games for the Flyers this past season. He recorded 12 goals and 27 assists for 39 points and 43 penalty minutes in 62 games for the Flyers’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms. He was acquired, along with a third round pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Patrick Sharp and Eric Meloche on December 5, 2005.

In 43 career NHL regular season games over three seasons with Chicago (2003-04 and 2005-06) and the Flyers (2005-06 and 2006-07), Ellison has registered three goals and 11 assists for 14 points and 19 penalty minutes.
