Saturday, Mar. 10th, 2007

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have recalled center Gabe Gauthier (under emergency conditions) from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League and have assigned defenseman Peter Harrold to Manchester, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Gauthier, 23, has 32 points (13-19=32) in 56 games with the Monarchs this season. A 5-9, 200-pound native of Buena Park, California, Gauthier, when he makes his Kings/NHL debut, will be the second player born in California to ever play for the Kings (forward Noah Clarke was born in LaVerne).

Signed by the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on July 12, 2006, Gauthier played his college hockey at Denver University where he was a member of back-to-back NCAA national championship teams in 2004 and 2005. With the Kings, Gauthier wears No. 28.

Harrold, 23, has played in 12 games with the Kings this season and has two points (0-2=2) and eight penalty minutes. The 5-11, 190-pound native of Kirtland Hills, Ohio, has also appeared in 48 games with the Monarchs this season and has 25 points (5-20=25). Signed by the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on April 12, 2006, Harrold made his Kings/NHL debut at San Jose on November 22 and recorded his first NHL point (an assist) during the game, and was most recently recalled by the Kings on March 6.
