Capitals Send Heward to Los Angeles for a Conditional Draft Pick

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Capitals acquired a conditional draft pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for defenseman Jamie Heward, vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
Heward, 36, has played 52 games for the Capitals this year, registering four goals and 12 assists (16 points). The 6’2”, 215-pound native of Regina, Sask., has played in 362 career NHL games and notched 114 points.
