Canucks Reassign Rick Rypien to Manitoba

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that centre Rick Rypien has been re-assigned to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.
Rypien, 22, has played in two games this season for the Canucks, recording zero points and five penalty minutes. The 5’10”, 181 lbs centre missed 27 games due to a groin injury since being recalled on December 1, 2006. He has appeared in 14 games with the Moose this season registering six points (3-3-6) and 35 penalty minutes.
The Coleman, Alberta native was signed by the Canucks as a free agent on November 9, 2005. He has appeared in seven career NHL games, all with the Canucks, recording one point (1-0-1) and nine penalty minutes.
