Bruins Recall Jeremy Reich from Providence

Tuesday, Feb. 6th, 2007

Boston -- Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has recalled left-winger Jeremy Reich from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL) on an emergency basis. Reich will be with the Bruins tonight for their game against the Washington Capitols.

Reich, who was signed by Boston as a free agent on August 30, 2005, made his Bruins debut in the club’s 4-3 overtime win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday night in Raleigh, NC. He was assigned back to Providence on Sunday.

This season Reich has played 46 games, and tallied four goals and seven assists for the Providence Bruins.

Reich, 27, from Craik Saskatchewan, was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round (39th overall) in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. He signed with Columbus as a free agent on May 17, 2000 and saw his only NHL action when he played nine games for the Blue Jackets during the 2003-2004 season. During that stretch in the NHL, Reich had one assist.
