Oilers Assign Thoresen to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

The Edmonton Oilers have assigned left winger Patrick Thoresen to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.
The fifth Norwegian to play in the NHL, Thoresen, has scored 2-8-10 with 37 penalty mintues in 43 games with the Oilers. He is ranked among NHL rookies in points (24th), assists (17th) and game-winning goals (14th).
This is Thoresens second assignment to the Penguins this season, as he was previously assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on January 2nd. Thoresen played two games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and scored a goal and four assists and was +3. He scored a powerplay goal and two assists in his debut with the Penguins on January 5th and then had two assists in an 8-4 win over the Hershey Bears on January 6th, before being recalled to Edmonton on January 8th.
