GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced today that the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Matt Jones from the San Antonio Rampage, the Coyotes’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

Jones has registered 1-2-3 and 31 penalty minutes (PIM) in 23 games with the Coyotes this season – his 2nd as a professional. Jones, a native of Downers Grove, Illinois, has also collected 2 assists and 23 PIM in 24 games with San Antonio this season.

The Coyotes selected Jones in the 3rd round (80th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He played 4 seasons at the University of North Dakota and helped lead his team to the 2005 NCAA Frozen Four championship game as an assistant captain.
