Thrashers Place J.P. Vigier on IR; Recall Darren Haydar from Chicago

Atlanta, GA -- The Atlanta Thrashers have placed forward J.P. Vigier on Injured Reserve (groin) and recalled forward Darren Haydar from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League, according to Executive Vice President and General Manager Don Waddell. The Thrashers active roster now stands at 23, including 13 forwards, eight defenseman and two goaltenders, with one player on IR.
Vigier, who injured his groin against the New York Islanders on Feb. 1, has appeared in 53 games with Atlanta this season, collecting 11 points (four goals, seven assists) and 25 penalty minutes.
Haydar has played in 49 games for the Chicago Wolves (AHL) this season and leads the league with 89 points and 59 assists. He also ranks third in the league in goals (30) and appeared in the 2007 AHL All-Star Game. The 27-year-old right wing recorded points in the first 39 games of the season, the longest scoring streak in AHL history.
A native of Toronto, Ontario, Haydar was recalled by the Thrashers on Jan. 1, but did not appear in a game. The fifth-year pro has appeared in two career National Hockey League games, both with Nashville during the 2002-03 season.
