Capitals Recall Klepis

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Capitals have recalled center Jakub Klepis from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
Klepis, 22, played 35 games for the Capitals this season and tallied two goals and six assists before being assigned to Hershey last Saturday. Klepis suited up for the Bears yesterday and had an assist in helping the team to a 4-1 victory against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Klepis, a 6’1”, 198-pound native of Prague, Czech Republic, was selected 16th overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2002 Entry Draft. He was acquired by the Capitals from Buffalo for Mike Grier on March 9, 2004, and made his NHL debut in a Capitals sweater on Nov. 4, 2005, against Atlanta, where he recorded his first NHL goal. He had four stints with the Capitals last season, totaling four points (one goal, three assists) in 25 games.
