Stars Assign Grossman, Barch and Lundqvist to Iowa

FRISCO, Tex. – Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has assigned defenseman Niklas Grossman, right wing Krys Barch and center Joel Lundqvist to the Iowa Stars, Dallas’ development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Grossman, 21, has played in four games with Dallas this season, going scoreless with four penalty minutes as the Stars are 4-0-0 in the four games he has played in. He has appeared in 34 games with Iowa this season, registering two goals and six assists for eight points with a team-leading +13 rating. The 6-3, 206-pound defenseman made his NHL debut on Dec. 2 vs. Minnesota.
Barch, 26, played in three games with Dallas after being recalled on Jan. 14 and made his NHL debut on Jan. 15 vs. Los Angeles. Dallas went 3-0-0 in the three games he played with the club this past week. He has also appeared in 30 games with Iowa this season, posting eight points (3-5-8) with a team-leading 110 penalty minutes. Signed by Dallas as a free agent on July 18, 2006, he has appeared in 223 career AHL games over parts of seven seasons, tallying 25 goals and 41 assists for 66 points with 444 penalty minutes.
Lundqvist, 24, has appeared in nine games with the Stars this season, registering one goal. His first NHL point was a goal on January 17 vs. Calgary. He has also appeared in 34 games with Iowa this year, collecting 15 goals and 18 assists for 33 points and five power play tallies. He leads the team in assists and points, and is tied for first in goals.
