Oilers Recall Thoresen; Reassign Jacques and Pouliot

The Edmonton Oilers have recalled left winger Patrick Thoresen from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League and assigned forwards Jean-Francois Jacques and Marc Pouliot to the AHL affiliate.

Thoresen, who scored 2-7-9 with 33 penalty minutes in 32 games with the Oilers prior to his assignment to the minors on January 2nd, played two games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and scored a goal and four assists and was +3. He scored a powerplay goal and two assists in his debut with the Penguins on January 5th and then had two assists in an 8-4 win over the Hershey Bears on January 6 th.

Pouliot scored 2-1-3 with 4 penalty minutes in 18 games with the Oilers this season and Jacques was scoreless with 14 penalty minutes in 19 games.

Prior to their recalls to the Oilers, both Jacques and Pouliot had been scoring at a point-per-game pace with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Jacques scored 2-4-6 in five games with the Penguins and Pouliot netted 8-10-18 in 18 games.
