Ducks Sign Levasseur to Entry-Level Contract

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed goaltender Jean-Philippe Levasseur to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Levasseur, 19 (1/15/87), has appeared in 36 games for Rouyn-Noranda of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) in 2006-2007, earning a record of 18-10 with a 3.58 goals-against-average and .892 save percentage. The Victoriaville, Quebec, native currently ranks second in the QMJHL in wins.
The 6-0, 197-pound goalie is playing in his fourth QMJHL season, after leading the league and setting a personal best in wins (35) a season ago. He was drafted by Anaheim in the seventh round (197th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
