Flames Recall Brandon Prust

Calgary, AB - Calgary Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter announced today left wing Brandon Prust has been recalled from the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights of the American Hockey League.

Prust played in seven games with Calgary earlier this season totaling 18 penalty minutes.

He played his first NHL career game on November 1st against the Detroit Red Wings. In Omaha this year, the 5’11” 191 lbs winger has recorded 4 goals and 4 assists while accumulating 50 penalty minutes in 15 games.

During his rookie pro season in 2005-06, he played in all but one game for the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights, scoring 12 goals and 26 points. The native of London, ON had a team-leading 294 penalty minutes.

Originally selected by the Flames in the third round (70th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Prust played 177 career games over three seasons with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League. Prust was a member of the London squad that captured the Memorial Cup in 2005.
