Kings Recall Brust, Place Tverdovsky on IR

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Kings have recalled goaltender Barry Brust from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League and placed defenseman Oleg Tverdovsky (groin injury, retroactive to November 13) on injured reserve, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
Brust, 23, has a record of 1-4-0, a goals-against-average of 3.04 and a save-percentage of .905 in five appearances with the Monarchs this season. The 6-2, 210-pound native of Swan River, Manitoba, has not appeared in a game with the Kings this season. Brust, who also has not appeared in an NHL game, signed with the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on June 9, 2004. He will wear jersey number 32.
Tverdovsky, 30, has three points (0-3=3) and four penalty minutes in 12 games with the Kings this season. The Kings acquired the 6-1, 211-pound native of Donetsk, Ukraine, from Carolina along with defensive prospect Jack Johnson from Carolina for Eric Belanger and defenseman Tim Gleason on September 29, 2006. Originally selected by Anaheim in the first-round (2nd overall) in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, Tverdovsky has 316 points (77-239=316) and 285 penalty minutes in 699 career NHL games with the Kings, Carolina, New Jersey, Anaheim, Phoenix and Winnipeg.
