Ducks Send Fedoruk to Philadelphia, Acquire Parros

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has acquired a fourth-round draft choice in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for left wing Todd Fedoruk. The club also acquired a conditional right to exchange fifth-round selections with the Flyers in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. The Ducks also announced they acquired right wing George Parros from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for a second-round draft pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft (previously acquired from Atlanta for Vitaly Vishnevski). In addition, Anaheim has the option to exchange third-round selections with Colorado in the 2007 Entry Draft.

Fedoruk, 27 (2/13/79), has missed the last eight games with a broken cheekbone. He appeared in 10 games with Anaheim in 2006-2007, earning 0-3=3 points with 36 penalty minutes. A native of Redwater, Alta., Fedoruk has appeared in 306 career NHL games, earning 14-40=54 points with 701 penalty minutes.

The 6-2, 241-pound winger was acquired by Anaheim from Philadelphia in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2005 NHL Entry draft on July 29, 2005. He was drafted by Philadelphia in the seventh round (164th overall) of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.

Parros, 26 (12/29/79), has played in two games with Colorado this season, going scoreless. The Washington, Pa. native was claimed by Colorado off waivers from Los Angeles on Oct. 3, 2006. In 57 career NHL games, Parros has recorded 2-3=5 points with 138 penalty minutes (PIM).

Before turning pro, the 6-4, 232-pounder spent four seasons at Princeton University where he collected 20-32=52 points with 117 (PIM) in 111 games. In addition, Parros has played 133 career American Hockey League games, recording 17-15=32 points with 380 PIM.

Parros was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the eighth round (222nd overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
