Brian Rolston Named Wild Captain for November

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough and Head Coach Jacques Lemaire today announced that forward Brian Rolston will serve as team captain for the month of November and Kim Johnsson and Wes Walz will continue to serve as alternate captains.
Rolston, 33 (2/21/73), helped lead the Wild to a 9-2-0 record in October, including a 7-0-0 mark at Xcel Energy Center. He leads the Wild in scoring this season with 13 points (9-4=13) and ranks second on the team with a plus-minus rating of +6 in 11 games. The Flint, Michigan-native ranks tied for first in the NHL with three game-winning goals and tied for fourth with nine goals. He has collected 524 points (233-291=524) in 829 career NHL games in parts of 12 seasons with New Jersey, Colorado, Boston and Minnesota. The Wild signed Rolston as a free agent on July 8, 2004. Rolston was originally selected by the Devils in the first round (11th overall) of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft.
The Wild will continue to rotate their team captaincy on a monthly basis this season based on the player who has shown the greatest leadership qualities.
The other four Wild players to be named team captain in consecutive months are Brad Bombardir (twice, 2000-01 and 2002-03), Brad Brown (2001-02), Andrew Brunette (2001-02) and Willie Mitchell (2005-06).
