Leopold Out Three Months After Hernia Surgery
Tuesday, Aug. 1st, 2006
DENVER – The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced that defenseman Jordan Leopold underwent successful surgery to repair a hernia this afternoon and is expected to make a full recovery.
“After further medical testing and evaluation it was determined that rehabilitation alone wouldn’t correct the problem,” said Avalanche Head Trainer Matt Sokolowski. “We expect him to be back to full speed in 10-12 weeks.”
Leopold, 25, was acquired from the Calgary Flames on June 24 along with Calgary’s second round draft selection in this year’s draft (Codey Burki) and the Flames’ second round pick in 2007 in exchange for forward Alex Tanguay.
