Predators Agree to Terms With Scott Hartnell

Nashville, Tenn. - Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has agreed to terms with restricted free-agent forward Scott Hartnell (SKAWT HAHRT-nuhl) on a one-year contract that will pay him $1.75 million.
Hartnell, 24 (4/18/82), finished third on the Predators with a career-high 25 goals in 2005-06 and captured a franchise record with a team-high eight game-winning goals. The 6-2, 210-pound forward also recorded career-highs in points (25g-23a-48pts) and power-play goals (10) and eclipsed the 100-penalty-minute mark (101) for the third time in his five full NHL seasons. He recorded his first career hat trick on February 4 vs. Chicago.
Nashville's first-round selection (sixth overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Hartnell has amassed 71 goals and 101 assists (71g-101a-172pts) and 448 penalty minutes in 372 NHL games. He enters 2006-07 ranked second among the franchise's all-time leaders in penalty minutes, ranked fifth in both goals and games played and ranked sixth in points.
