Canucks Sign Yannick Tremblay

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have signed free agent defenceman Yannick Tremblay to a one year deal.
Tremblay, 30, played 46 games with the Mannheim Eagles of the German Hockey League (DEL), where he recorded 28 points (11-17-28) and 44 penalty minutes over the 2005-06 season. Tremblay has played 378 NHL games in his career, recording 37 goals, 85 assists (37-85-122) and 166 penalty minutes. In 2003-04, Tremblay played for the Atlanta Thrashers recording 10 points (2-8-10) and 13 penalty minutes in 38 games played. The defenceman played a total of five years with the Thrashers and prior to that was a member of the Toronto Maples Leafs for three seasons.
The 6’2”, 200 lbs, native of Pointe-aux-Trembles, Quebec was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs 145th overall in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.
