Coyotes Sign Mike Zigomanis to Two-Year Contract

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced today that the Coyotes have signed center Mike Zigomanis to a two-year contract.
In his third NHL season, the 6-foot-0, 195-pound Zigomanis played in 23 NHL games in 2005-06 season split between Carolina and St. Louis. Zigomanis was traded from Carolina to St. Louis on Jan. 30, 2006 along with Jesse Boulerice, Magnus Kahnberg and draft choices in exchange for Doug Weight and Erkki Rajamaki.
Zigomanis also played in 39 games in the American Hockey League (AHL) last season. In 11 games with Lowell (AHL), he registered 6 goals, 7 assists and 13 points. Zigomanis also played in 28 games with Peoria (AHL), recording 10 goals, 18 assists and 28 points.
In his NHL career, the 25-year-old native of North York, Ontario has collected 3-4-7 and 6 PIM in 59 games with Carolina and St. Louis.
Zigomanis was originally drafted by Buffalo in the 3rd round (64th overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. He re-entered the NHL Entry Draft in 2001 and was selected by Carolina in the 2nd round (46th overall).
