Gauthier Suspended Two Games

TORONTO -- Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Denis Gauthier has been suspended for two games, without pay, as a result of being assessed a game misconduct penalty during NHL game #1153 against the Toronto Maple Leafs on April 8.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Gauthier will forfeit $13,602.04. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
Gauthier was assessed a major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct for a hit from behind on Toronto player Kyle Wellwood at 0:22 of the second period.
Gauthier will miss Tuesday's game against Pittsburgh and April 13 at New Jersey. He will be eligible to return April 15 against the New York Rangers.
