Canucks Acquire Eric Weinrich In Exchange for Tomas Mojzis and 3rd Round Pick

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced Thursday that defenceman Eric Weinrich has been acquired from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Tomas Mojzis and a 3rd round draft pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Weinrich, 39, has played 59 games with the St. Louis Blues this season recording 17 points (1-16-17) and 44 penalty minutes. In his 16-year NHL career, Weinrich has played 1,141 career NHL games recording 388 points (70-318-388) and 817 penalty minutes. The NHL veteran has played 81 career playoff games registering 29 points (6-23-29) and 67 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-1, 215 pound native of Roanoke, Virginia was the New Jersey Devils 2nd round pick, 32nd overall in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft.
