Dallas Claims Jeremy Stevenson Off Waivers from Nashville

FRISCO, Tex. – Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has claimed Jeremy Stevenson off waivers from the Nashville Predators.
“Jeremy brings a physical dimension to our hockey club and will fit in nicely with our team,” said Armstrong. “He is a gritty player that has some valuable NHL experience, both in the regular season and the playoffs, and we are happy to have him.”
Stevenson, 31, has appeared in 35 games with Nashville this season, posting four goals and three assists for seven points with 74 penalty minutes. The 6-1, 215-pound left wing has appeared in 191 career NHL games with Anaheim (1995-00), Nashville (2000-02, 2004-06) and Minnesota (2002-03), posting 18 goals and 19 assists for 37 points with 430 penalty minutes.
Born in San Bernardino, California and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Stevenson established a career-high in games played (56) and penalty minutes (105) and matched his career-high in goals (5) during the 2003-04 season with Minnesota and Nashville. He also appeared in 14 playoff games with the Wild in 2003, registering five assists and 12 penalty minutes and played in six playoff contests with the Predators in 2004.
