Capitals Recall Colin Forbes

Washington, D.C. – The Washington Capitals have recalled forward Colin Forbes from Hershey of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
Forbes, 29, was acquired Dec. 28 from Carolina in exchange for Stephen Peat. He has played five games with Hershey since, posting two goals and one assist, and has 31 points (12 goals, 19 assists) in 39 AHL games this season with Hershey and Lowell.
A 6’4”, 224-pound native of New Westminster, B.C., Forbes returns to the Capitals after playing parts of three seasons in Washington from 2001-04. He had eight points (five goals, three assists) in 45 games with the Capitals, with all of those points coming in 2001-02. Forbes, who will wear No. 36 for the Capitals, has played 302 career NHL games with Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, Ottawa, the New York Rangers and Washington, recording 61 points (33 goals, 28 assists) and 211 penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by the Flyers in the seventh round (166th overall) in the 1994 NHL Draft.
