Jeff Cowan Placed on IR

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have placed forward Jeff Cowan on the injured reserve list (retroactive to December 11) due to a strained hamstring, Kings President, Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today.

Cowan, 29, has six points (5-1=6) and 24 penalty minutes in 20 games with the Kings this season. The 6-2, 205-pound native of Scarborough, Ontario, has missed the last three games due to the injury. In 278 career NHL games with the Kings, Atlanta Thrashers and Calgary Flames, Cowan has 65 points (37-28=65) and 411 penalty minutes.
